January 6th, 2011 update from Jessica (my sister in law):
November update: Hemorrhage gone! Jessica's body reabsorbed it!
October 5, 2010 Update From Jessica. Thank you for your prayers!
September 9, 2010: This is my beautiful sister-in-law Jessica on her wedding day. She is just as beautiful on the inside! She is married to my husband's brother, Bryan. They both love the Lord and seek to please Him in all they do!
Dear Family and Friends,
We pray you all had a joyous holiday season! Thankfully, this will be the last update until Gabe comes! Last week, I was released from the specialist’s care. Gabe’s growth has remained steady at 38%, and although there is still a tear in the placenta, the risk of an abruption is very minimal right now. He could come at any time according to both sets of doctors. As Kerry (my Pastor’s wife) says, Gabe’s been prayed in there so hard that he’ll probably go full term! As painful as the increasing amount of contractions are, we know it’s best that he stay put for as long as possible, so that’s the end towards which we’re working! I’m able to deliver at St. Francis (my preferred hospital) now that I’m to this point. And we wait!
Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement! We look forward to announcing Gabriel’s arrival!
Love,
The Littles
November update: Hemorrhage gone! Jessica's body reabsorbed it!
October 5, 2010 Update From Jessica. Thank you for your prayers!
Dear Family and Friends,
Today was my weekly visit to the specialist’s office. We got 4 pieces of good news…not just stable news but GOOD news! There was NO active bleeding in my uterus today which means that all of the hemorrhage has started to clot off! The area of active bleeding that has been directly over my cervix and feeding off the placenta has moved completely away from that opening and is no longer getting fed from the vessels of the placenta! My body has started to reabsorb the hemorrhage since it was smaller this week than last. The baby is even measuring a week ahead of schedule! I thought with all of that good news that the doctor would ease up on my bed rest, but he’s not going to do that anytime soon as he thinks the bed rest has helped me get to this point. We still need to get to 24 weeks as that’s ‘viability’. At this point, if things go along like they are today, I won’t need to be hospitalized at 24 weeks. I’ll be able to stay home until Gabe’s growing slows or if my water breaks due to all the old blood sitting inside the uterus. I could still get an infection from all of that blood. My placenta is still torn, so we’ll be closely watching Gabe’s growth to determine if he’s getting all that he needs from the remaining placenta.
Please keep praying that my body will reabsorb this hemorrhage. It is fantastic that it’s already starting to do so; we just need it to keep on track so as to not agitate my womb and break my water, give me an infection from so much blood inside there, or start to pull at the placenta more thus affecting Gabe’s growth.
Love,
The Littles
September 9, 2010: This is my beautiful sister-in-law Jessica on her wedding day. She is just as beautiful on the inside! She is married to my husband's brother, Bryan. They both love the Lord and seek to please Him in all they do!
They have 2 precious little girls, Ava and Eden.
Jessica is 17 weeks pregnant with my little nephew, Gabriel Zachary! Here's where the prayers are desperately needed:
At her routine 12 week visit, the doctor found 2 hemorrhages inside of her womb. In the course of 5 weeks, one has passed but the other has grown. It now makes up 75% of the uterine lining.
It is attached to the placenta which is lying partially over her cervix. The placenta has torn away from the uterine wall.
The doctors say that every week she is pregnant is a miracle, and they are truly baffled when she returns pregnant.
Her specialist, who is also a Christian, said that it will be a miracle if she makes it to viability (24 weeks), and that there’s nothing he can do to help her get to that point.
Thankfully he knows that it is our miracle-working Savior who can remedy this whole situation for His glory. As of today's visit (September 9th), they just want Jessica to get to 22 weeks ( 4.5 more weeks) before putting her in the hospital for daily monitoring and steroid injections.
They don’t believe she'll be pregnant by Thanksgiving. Gabriel Zachary has grown on track thus far.
There will come a time when what’s left of the placenta won’t be enough to keep him growing...
There will come a time when what’s left of the placenta won’t be enough to keep him growing...
Will you join me in prayer? If you are truly serious about lifting little Gabriel Zachary up in prayer, would you leave a comment saying so? If you would like to add a blog button to spread the word, please copy the link below:

Praying...
ReplyDeleteI'll pray for Jessica and her family! How scary...
ReplyDeletePraying for this whole family that God would continue doing miracles.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. I'll definitely be praying. Doctors don't know everything, they are wrong all the time. There's only one who can give and keep life going, and He knows what's going on (and why).
ReplyDeleteThere is hope! And even when it's all that we have, it's enough to know that it's there...
ReplyDeleteMy aunt was a miracle. She was born extemely early {especially considering it was over 50 years ago} My grandmother was RH neg and without the rhogam back then- her placenta completely fell out of the womb, onto the sidewalk.{shocking right?} She survived and is an exceptionally intelligent and vibrant woman!
Dearest Lord,
Please touch and heal this child and mother. Show the whole family mercy, grace and hope. Surround them in love abounding. Guide the physicians in treating this mother throughout her pregnancy and grant them the knowlege they need to assist you in your ways. But above all- may each family member know that you have a plan for this small child... and come what may- he is a child of God... Loved endlessly without bounds.
Amen
I'm praying.
ReplyDeletePraying for you family.
ReplyDeletePraying, praying, praying for your sister-in-law! Our God is a God of miracles...my family has seen that firsthand. My mother went into labor with my little sister when she was barely 6 months pregnant! They didn't believe my sister would survived, but the Lord healed her and today she is a healthy 20-year-old college student.
ReplyDeleteLord, I pray your peace over this family. Touch this mother's body with Your awesome healing power. Touch this growing boy, reveal your plan for His life and this family's life. Surround them with your love, provide understanding in this time of confusion and worry. Help them to trust in your will! Amen.
Rachel, that is a lovely prayer. I am joining my prayers with yours for Baby Gabriel and your family. -E
ReplyDeleteI surely will!!!

ReplyDeletePraying, Traci.
ReplyDeleteVery scary!! I so hope it all goes well! Let us know, thanks!
ReplyDeletePraying with you and for Jessica and Gabriel Zachary. Nothing is impossible with God! May He receive all the glory!
ReplyDelete"I plan to give you a hope and a future!" says the Lord. Whatever that means in this situation but I'm praying that His name be glorified through this family's responde to a Mighty God.
ReplyDeleteHoly God, Source of all life and consolation, of whom the Angel Gabriel praising You, said, "Nothing is impossible with God". You who caused the Barren to conceive and carry to term. You who, by Your own Spirit, sent Your Only Begotten into the womb of a Virgin, that she alone, without man's help, would conceive, carry and give birth to a Son. Grant oh Lord, we beseech You with abated breathe and in deep worry and sorrow, that Jessica too be counted among these blessed women. Grant that her son Gabriel may be born healthy and strong, so as to echo his Namesake of long ago: 'Nothing is impossible with God'.
ReplyDeleteHoly Mary, you who lost your Son continually, pray for this family, that they might not loose their son. Come with the heart of a mother who knows intimately the trials this family are going through and offer up with their prayers, your own. Jesus save! Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever unto the ages of ages-Amen + The Lord's will be done.
She's been on my heart lately and I've been praying for them...such a precious family.
ReplyDeleteGod has a plan...

ReplyDeletePraying that God would sustain this little one in his mother's womb long enough for him to survive in the outside world...
ReplyDeleteI found your blog from a posting by Master Books Homeschool.
ReplyDeleteI am just brimming over with tears at your family's journey through this pregnancy and faith in Him through it.
I will be praying for them today, for encouragement and for God's perfect healing.
If it is any encouragement my daughter had a sever heart defect before she was born that we did not know about. God worked through his perfect timing for her to be born a month early to be able to have surgery in time. I never could get a guarantee or perfect answer from the doctors, only from God. I am on my second pregnancy now and trying to hold on to that same trust. Please now He can orchestrate the birth of a sweet baby in a way that we or doctors could never imagine. He has a plan and I pray for your family as you seek Him through this.
I am committed to pray! Heavenly Father, we thank you for LIFE. I thank you that you have a plan and a destiny for Gabriel. Lord Jesus, I come to you now and ask for your healing touch to be upon Jessica's womb. Lord Jesus, nothing is impossible for You. Father I pray that you will keep Gabriel safe in the womb until his appointed time of birth and that no harm shall come to him or Jessica. Breathe your breath of life into Gabriel now, and surround Jessica, her husband and this family with the peace that surpasses all understanding in Christ Jesus. Amen.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! WOW. Please keep us posted.
ReplyDeleteKeeping Gabriel Zachary in my prayers. I have put the button up on two of my blogs.
ReplyDeleteGod hear our prayers..............
I will be praying.
ReplyDeleteLord we all come together in unison to pray for Jessica and her baby Gabriel. Father we trust that You are the God of miracles and we pray that your supernatural protection may come over her. Giver her the spiritual strength and hold her in Your loving arms.
ReplyDeleteIn Jesus name,
Amen
Oh my, Traci! I just can't imagine the wide range of emotions Jessica and Bryan must be experiencing. Pregnancy should be a time filled with joy and wondrous anticipation, but I imagine it must be very hard for them to know just how to feel.
ReplyDeleteI will definitely be praying for this precious family. I will pray for the Lord to heal little baby Gabriel and allow him to be born healthy. I will also ask Him to give Gabriel's parents all the strength, comfort and grace they will need in the days to come...and PEACE that passeth all understanding, to comfort their hearts and minds as they wait.
Please keep us updated.
