The Magnolia tree has timber that is hard and heavy; all the while maintaining its delicate, white, fragrant flowers!

I am ever-endeavouring to be like the Magnolia...

strong in character and conviction,

firm in upholding truth,

all the while remaining grace-filled in the

meditations of my heart and the words that cross my lips;

that I may be a mere reflection of Jesus in all I do.

Ephesians 5:2 "And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma."

Pondering grace, truth and love today:

Just because one stands up for truth does not mean there is an absence of love and grace...

Just because one stands up for grace does not mean there is the presence of love and truth...

We need to be balanced in all things and bring everything before the Lord in prayer.

Your thoughts?

  1. That balance is so key and at times, (or at all times, LOL) is so difficult to maintain!

"Lord, help me today to prayerfully walk in the fullness of your love and grace. Without YOU, I am nothing..."

Thank you for this awesome analogy, Traci!

  2. My thoughts? It's terribly hard to balance when there's an earthquake under your feet.

Wow. I am SO negative today!

  3. Truth and love must accompany each other. Although we may sway too much on one side or the other at times, the important thing to remember is that God honors our efforts.

  4. Thank you so much for your very sweet comment on my blog post "Blue Eyes Crying in the...." I appreciate you and the insight you share with us on your blog as well! ;~)

  6. Love this post! Magnolia is strong and yet beautiful - it is possible to be both!

I am having a giveaway on my blog and you are more than welcome to enter!

  7. This makes me think of Steel Magnolias :). Your place is a breath of fresh air, Traci. Thanks for stopping to see me recently (and voting for me!) Did I tell you I voted for you too? And thank you for prompting me to consider this beautiful trinity of grace, truth and love.

  8. Beautiful object lesson. I'm in favor of this type of post. Very uplifting and inspiring!

  9. A great metaphor for the spiritual life. Thank you for this reminder that we need to stay strong in character, but bloom brightly and fragrant for the Lord.

  10. I think balance is key in the Christian life. It's like you can't have judgment without showing mercy. How do you even do that? But God, although He is judge, showers me with mercy! Love this post and the picture is gorgeous!
